GC115 – Readscan – SQRRR – Creating Question Marks (Reading Journal)

GC115-S4 – SQRRR – Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review – For reading notetaking purposes, in a five-step process, Alexa or Instructor will guide students, individually, with a partner or small group, to survey their prior knowledge and write down what they already know about the lesson topic. After writing down their current knowledge, students will take time and survey the reading material’s headings, sub-headings, bolded words, charts, picture and topic sentences and generate possible quiz questions on index cards. During and after reading the assignment, students will be directed to answer each quiz question, in his own words, on the backside of each index card.  Then, write confusing points on sticky notes.  Next, students will review confusing points with a partner.  Last, index cards will be used as Flash Cards for students to repeat the answers in their own words.
